The bottom of Ivy’s dress had swept so much dust from the floor due to all her incessant pacing around the room, that the servants wouldn’t even need to clean the following morning. She leaned out of the small window of her room, gazing outside - although she could see very little outside of snowy rooftops glinting in the moonlight. That was of little comfort to her, so she went back inside and sat at her desk. She grasped a rolled piece of parchment, small, held closed by a pin bearing the emblem of the crowned gem of Brodia. With an irritated gesture she undid the pin and rolled out the parchment, giving it yet another read to see if she had comically misunderstood the meaning of that letter, or if it really did say what she had read the first time.
